Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about ordering custom gears from Proshine Gears.

What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

+

There is no strict MOQ. We accept prototype orders from a single piece up to mass production runs of tens of thousands. Pricing is quoted per project based on material, complexity, and quantity.

What is your typical lead time?

+

Prototype gears usually ship in 10–15 business days. Production batches of 100–500 pieces typically take 25–35 days. Large-volume orders are scheduled with a firm delivery date confirmed before production starts.

What materials can you work with?

+

We machine alloy steel (20CrMnTi, 40Cr, 42CrMo), carbon steel, stainless steel (304, 316), cast iron, bronze, brass, and engineering plastics (POM, nylon, PE). Heat treatment includes carburizing, quenching, tempering, and induction hardening.

What accuracy grades can you achieve?

+

Standard production reaches IT6–IT8. Precision grinding achieves IT4–IT6. Gear tooth profile and lead are inspected on a CNC gear measuring center with full inspection reports available on request.

Do you accept build-to-print and OEM orders?

+

Yes. We manufacture strictly to your drawings and specifications. We also support ODM co-development where we assist with material selection, heat treatment planning, and tolerance optimization.

What file formats do you accept for drawings?

+

We accept PDF, DWG, DXF, STEP, STP, IGES, and clear photos or scans. If you only have a sample part, we can reverse-engineer it and produce a drawing for your confirmation before machining.

How do you package and ship?

+

Gears are wrapped in anti-rust paper, packed in foam-lined cartons, and palletized for sea freight or boxed for air express (DHL, FedEx). We ship FOB Luoyang / CIF / DDP per your preference.

What payment terms do you accept?

+

For new customers: 30% deposit, 70% before shipment (T/T). For established customers: 30% deposit, 70% against copy of B/L. L/C at sight is available for orders above USD 10,000.
